Developmental psychologist Caspar Addyman has the best job ever. He works to answer the age-old question: What makes babies laugh? This means Addyman spends most of his working days listening to, and decoding, the sound of what can only be described as the tittering of angels. Addyman conducts experiments on human behavior, and his focus is on infants and toddlers. He is a lecturer in developmental psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, and the director of the Goldsmiths InfantLab. He has written a novel, titled Help Yourself, about a retired psychologist and failed comedian. Addyman’s Baby Laughter project surveyed families across the globe. His work also inspired Imogen Heap's Happy Song, on which she collaborated with Addyman.
