Minnesota Timberwolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns had himself a pretty big game in a losing effort against the Washington Wizards Wednesday evening.
Towns dropped 34 points on 11-of-25 shooting while adding 10 rebounds in the 115-107 road loss in D.C.
Unfortunately for the resurgent Wolves and their All-Star big, Towns exited the game late after this ugly fall to the hardwood. The video is courtesy of our very own Dane Moore. It doesn’t look great.
Karl-Anthony Towns crashes to the floor late, and was laying down on the bench after this crash. He went back to the locker room before the game was over.

As Moore notes, Towns went back to the locker room before the game was over and didn’t return to action. It looks to be a lower-back or tailbone injury.
The former No. 1 pick from Kentucky has dealt with injuries over the past couple of seasons. Back in 2019-20, he missed substantial action due to a knee injury. This past season saw Towns sidelined due to both a wrist injury and COVID-19.
However, he’s been absolutely stellar for Minnesota as the team continues a recent hot streak. Towns, 26, entered Wednesday’s action averaging 23.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 51% from the field.
Per Moore, Towns is getting X-rays done by team doctors after the fall.
We’ll have further updates relating to Towns’ injury once they become available.
