Teddy Bridgewater leaves hospital, enters NFL concussion protocol

Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will go into the NFL concussion protocol following a stay at a Denver hospital, the team announced on Monday.

The veteran QB was injured during the third quarter of Sunday's matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals when he dove for a first down and landed face down on the field.

Bridgewater also sustained a concussion in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens but was able to take the field the following week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After this weekend's overnight stay in the hospital, it isn't clear if he will be able to continue that streak next weekend against the Raiders in Las Vegas.

The veteran signal-caller is having a bounce-back season, tossing a career-high 18 touchdowns in his first tour with the Broncos.

Bridgewater's scary injury was the second of its kind in Week 15. On Thursday night, Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham was knocked out trying to catch a pass in the end zone and was motionless for several seconds. He remains in the league's concussion protocol.
