The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has issued six new subpoenas, more evidence that it is not sitting around waiting for contempt convictions against the Trump loyalists who have defied its subpoenas. Robert «Bobby» Peede Jr. and Max Miller were present for a Jan. 4 White House meeting with Donald Trump and Katrina Pierson to discuss who would speak at the Jan. 6 rally at the Ellipse, according to the committee’s letters to Peede and Miller. Miller, additionally, tried to get political appointees in the Trump administration to overrule career government employees enforcing longstanding rules about where event structures can be placed relative to the White House.
